How old is my dog in human years?

The old "multiply by 7" rule is a myth. Dogs race through their first two years, then settle into a steadier pace that depends on their size - small dogs age slower and live longer, giants age faster. Pick a direction, enter the age and size, and we'll do the maths.

Use decimals for months - e.g. 0.5 = 6 months.
In human years that's about 28 human years roughly a person in their late twenties

Your dog is a young adult - fully grown, full of energy, and at one of the healthiest stretches of life.

Why size matters: all dogs are "teenagers" by age 2 (about 24 human years). After that, small breeds add roughly 4 human years per dog year, medium ~5, large ~6 and giant ~7-8. That's why a 10-year-old Chihuahua is middle-aged while a 10-year-old Great Dane is well into old age.

โš ๏ธ This is a friendly estimate, not a vet assessment. Aging varies with breed, genetics, weight and health - two dogs the same age can be in very different shape. For anything health-related, your vet is the real expert.
