Medium breeds, honestly.

Medium breeds run from about 2 to 5 kg: the Mini Lop, Dutch, Rex, Californian, Harlequin and English Angora. For most first-time owners this is the group to look at. Mid-sized rabbits tend to be calmer and more confident than the dwarfs, sturdy enough to live around sensible children, and small enough that a large exercise pen still works. Temperaments here are the most forgiving in the catalog - the Dutch and Mini Lop in particular have long reputations as steady family rabbits. The trade-off is that care is not uniform: the English Angora sits in this weight class but needs grooming several times a week and regular coat trims, a different commitment from the low-maintenance Rex. Check each profile before deciding.
